A brand new HDD is being shipped to me but will not arrive for another 2-3 days, so I can't test another drive. I've also referred to this sticky as well I've tried changing which SATA port the HDD was connected to. I've changed the SATA data cable, and the power cables. Downloaded the so-called drivers from the ASUS website for the Drive Controller, the Chipset, and tried The Ultimate Boot CD HDD diagnostics. I've tried to change the SATA settings in the BIOS from AHCI to IDE or to RAID. I've also tried Ubuntu 10.4 AMD-64 and it didn't recognize the HDD, either. The second hard drive was never recognized by my BIOS or Windows 7 installation (both 32 and 64 bit). One hard drive booted up and did not pass the SMART test. HDD: 2 Samsung 80GB Spinpoint P Series HD080HJ/P They were ridiculously cheap, and fully tested. So, the Hard Drives I bought off of eBay. RAM: 8 GB Crucial Ballistix DDR3 1333 Mhz ![]() This is a lower budget computer around $400-500 I believe. ![]() I'm a renewed computer enthusiast and it's been awhile since I've built a PC, but I recently built one, and I'm having trouble with my motherboard's BIOS and Windows 7 not recognizing my hard drive. ![]()
